to be honest, i've had weirder

at 11am i stumbled upon a slew of roosters - and i think one quail - as i was walking up edward l. grant highway in the bronx.

at 6pm, i found out that i'm homeless.

yesterday was a weird day.

yup

i began my journey from the west village to the lower east side. briskly walking to the west 4th subway. waiting for the f train. climbing up to 2nd avenue. quickly making my way to my friend's show at a local club.

all the while, carrying a 3 foot tall wooden mermaid in my arms.

and having the surreal realization that i was probably someone else's new york moment. some passerby was probably smiling and thinking "yup...only in new york."

later, an aquaintance of mine approached me and said, "i saw someone on houston walking around with a mermaid. and suddenly i thought 'hey! i think i know that girl!'"

yup. only in new york.

for what it's worth

today i pulled an 8 year old down from a fourth floor window. i don't think he actually wanted to fall four flights. he just wanted to escape.

but from what?

there's something happening here . . .

it takes a lifetime, if anything, to want to crawl out of windows. escape to . . . someplace else.

i suppose kids today are starting earlier with everything.
