challah!

this weekend started out with the usual. well, the usual for some people. i was invited to a potluck dinner. hosted by the stars of broadway. i've been to a pancake breakfast hosted by these same broadway stars, so i figured this would be equally delicious and entertaining. and i would once again slip in relatively unnoticed. it's not like they have a neon sign hanging over me saying "this person does not know every word to the songs of chicago!" then we arrived. and what do ya know.....it's a shabbat! that's right. my official initiation into jewish sabbath. and that's when my neon sign lit up. because as the wine was passed around. and they all began to say their prayers . . . my cell phone rang. i mean really. who brought the new guy?
